No, both are third-party and free. Project V provides the subscription and you open it in the app. Happ’s developers, for instance, state explicitly that they run no servers and sell no VPN service.
Possibly, but we will not claim it. The service is built and tested against Russian filtering, and our field data comes from Russian networks. The underlying protocols — AmneziaWG and VLESS + Reality — are the same ones used against deep packet inspection generally, and the two free weeks exist precisely so you can find out on your own connection.
There is no prohibition in Russian law on an individual using a VPN; the restrictions are aimed at services and at advertising circumvention tools. This is not legal advice — if the question matters to you, ask a lawyer.

Happ for PRO and AmneziaWG for LITE; both are free and third-party. Happ exists for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and macOS. It has no servers of its own — it only opens the subscription you give it.
Press the “add subscription” button in the bot: your device asks permission to open Happ, the app launches and downloads the server list by itself. Nothing is typed by hand.
Copy the subscription link, open Happ, press “+” in the top right corner and paste it from the clipboard. The second fallback is “+” and scanning a QR code.

It does not understand AmneziaWG’s obfuscation parameters and simply will not bring the connection up. You need the AmneziaWG app — a dark tile with a multicoloured letter W, not AmneziaVPN and not WireGuard.

A mobile-internet restriction mode in which only what is on an approved list opens: government services, banks, a number of domestic platforms. The logic is the reverse of ordinary blocking — not “this is banned” but “only this is permitted”.
You need a connection that looks to the filtering equipment like an ordinary HTTPS visit to a permitted site. In practice that means VLESS + Reality, which at Project V is the PRO plan.
Because its servers’ addresses are not on the approved list: the packets never arrive and the app hangs on “Connecting…”. Disguising the contents does not change this — it hides what you are sending, not where.
PRO. LITE runs on AmneziaWG, which is a UDP protocol, and in this mode operators usually close outbound UDP entirely.
No. In a full shutdown no VPN works: there is nothing to bypass, because there is no data channel. Whitelist mode is a different case — the connection exists, but only permitted destinations pass.
According to the Ministry of Digital Development’s official position, yes: home wired internet and Wi-Fi are not covered.
No, and nobody honestly can: filtering settings differ by region and operator and change over time. That is why the trial is two weeks — test it on your own SIM before paying.

For most usage it is plenty. A rough guide: an hour of ordinary-quality video is about a gigabyte, an hour of video calling is noticeably less, and messengers and music barely count. Only high-resolution video and large downloads move the needle quickly.

Slightly, and this is true of every VPN: traffic takes an indirect route through a server and encryption costs a little time. Latency — the round trip to the server and back — rises a bit too, which is why both of our locations are in Europe and Poland gives the shortest route from Russia and the CIS.
In Happ, tap the speedometer icon in the subscription card header: the app measures the response of every server and you pick the best one. Swiping right on a single server row measures just that one.
Most noticeably on a weak signal, when the connection keeps re-establishing itself. AmneziaWG is the lighter of the two; VLESS + Reality is slightly more demanding because of TLS processing and keepalives.

In order: refresh the subscription in the app, turn on automatic date and time (Reality checks the moment of connection, and a drifting clock breaks it), switch location, try a different network. If none of that helps, write to @pvsupp.
Usually either the servers rotated or your operator’s filtering changed. Tap the refresh icon on the subscription card in Happ and the app will pull the current list. This is routine, not a fault.
Usually a conflict with another VPN client: on iPhone only one VPN profile can be active at a time. Turn the others off, including ad blockers that work through a local VPN.
Switch location and measure response with the speedometer in Happ, refresh the subscription, and check that two VPNs are not running at once. On mobile, try moving — sometimes it really is just the signal.
